We don't have any rocket scientists here at Beglam General, but we do have a lot of brain surgeons. And, a person doesn't have to be a brain surgeon to come up with fresh, new ideas for personal projects; around the home and for business use.
Over the years, I have found that there are many people who have problems in these two general areas; finding a way to get more humor into their lives; and, they have problems with creativity...conceiving and putting those elusive ideas to work.
I am not a psychologist or a therapist...but, I do have a PhD in the School of Hard Knocks, in the areas of humor and creativity. I've been in the business for over forty years.
What problems do you have when it comes to creativity and idea development?
Are you reluctant to express your ideas, for fear of being laughed at? Do you crawl into a shell, if one of your ideas isn't accepted or doesn't work. Do you have low or high self-esteem? Do you have confidence in yourself? Do you feel good about yourself; Do you feel good about your accomplishments? Are you honest with yourself?
Do you ever take chances with your ideas? Do you get your feelings hurt easily? Can you get up and dust yourself off after a fall? Are you a competitive person? Are you a leader or a follower? Do you think you have good judgement and common sense? Are you a positive person or a negative person?
Do you work at getting ideas, or do you think they'll just fall out of the sky?. Are you self-motivated? Are you ambiious? Do you have dreams and goals? Do you think what you are doing is important? Why? Do you have self-doubt about your abilities? Do you know your limitations? ...

It was written by a psychologist at Stanford University, and the words, phrases and subject matter were just not understandable to me. I don't understand why anyone would get the "idea" to write a book so complex, that it would not be understood by most people. What would be the purpose of this?
Whether it be carving a piece of wood, or coaching a Little League baseball team, I've always believed in the Kiss Principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid) And, if I get the opportunity to write this column, I would keep it simple...after all, that's all I know...I don't know any forty or fifty dollar words!
America Online recently published an article, outlining the top seven important points in building a website. And, you know what was number one? simplicity
