On The Creative Side of Things... (coming soon) (Behind-the-scenes) Where and how did the ideas for humordoctor, humordoctormd, and the Health Store come about, and where is it all going? |
The wooden things, as you learned about previously, consist of over 200 wood carved animal characters; human figures in various occupations and professions. The "things" consist of the following; * Website; humordoctormd; This is home base, and I built my website to work for me all the way to retirement and beyond. * Screenplay; (Comedy) The Not So Excellent Adventure; Adorable aliens from the planet Krouton visit the Earth to investigate. * Book; Coming Up From The Bottom; A twenty year battle with the crippling and unforgiving migraine almost left me homeless on several occasions. * Book: If At First You Don't Succeed...; (coming soon) Nobody starts out as a profesional in any endeavor. (coming soon) * The School of Hard Knocks; Creative Consulting Practice; I've put this in place for the future. * The Humordoctormd Health Store; The Gift Shop is located in the Health Store. (Under construction) |
.I started out by carving small animal characters in wood such as sugar pine; redwood, etc. See; Animal figures |
Later, I tried my hand at carving human figures as well. Many of these pieces were put into scenes such as a kitchen scene; office scens, etc. Miniatures (1" scale) were used to add more realism to the scene. See; Miniatures |

and I had been a temporary employee longer than I would like to think. A report by ABC News, on July 3, 2003, reported the unployment rate had jumped to 6.4%, which is the highest in a decade, with over 9 million people unemployed! Add to that the aftermath of September 11, 2001 (9/11), and believe September 11, 2001 (9/11) has done so much damage to the economy, that I don't think things will get back to normal in this country for a long, long time. And, these are main reasons why I am building my business for the future! |

"Fifty million registered users can't be wrong." That was the lead sentence in one of seven articles which was published on AOl throughout the months of May and June, 2003 .. ABC News ran a story on eBay in late June, 2003 as well, and all of these stories were on the success of eBay..This huge marketplace has certainly gotten my attention |
Learning; planning; preparation; will take some time Along, with reading all the articles which have appeared on AOL in the past two months, I purchased the book entitled; "Starting an eBay Business for Dummies by Marsha Collier. I have never read another book on eBay, so I have no way to compare, but I think this book is very good, and covers everything from a detailed overview of eBay to photography of goods to be sold; postage; shipping issues; software and much more! So, I am pleased with the book. There will not be anything for sale any time soon, as there is much to be done. I will try to get up a few samples, of both the human figures and the animal figures, so you can see what they look like. In the meantime, I have created a sample of one of my wood scenes, with the use of the graphics out of the Homestead Library, and this will give you an idea what to expect. (Coming soon) |
