Many years ago, I started out by carving animal figures, such figures
as dogs; cats; owls; elephant; bears; racoon; giraffe, etc., and even an octopus, which was on display at a local Octopus Car Wash for awhile.
(And, yes, I do have a hand-carved wooden monkey).

Should you be interested, you can go to the following pages and read how all this came about, and then return back to this page:

Later, I carved many human figures such as a doctor; nurse; houswife; secretary; cook; basketball; football, etc., and my pride and joy...
my 14 piece Manger Set; (Snowy scene) This is a colorful page!

You can see a listing of the pieces I've carved over the years, and I have about 50 to add to the list.  This will give you a pretty good idea of the types of pieces I carved.

It's been many years since I've displayed my work in public, and I'm looking forward to getting out there again.  But, I'm looking forward to it more this time because I won't have to worry about sales; there will be more motivational/inspirational writing pieces; Orange Barrel Humor; and I look forward to the reaction by the general public...I can't wait!

Monkey See; Monkey Do!  I certainly hope people who visit my show, will get inspired and motivated to "do their own thing," as well, whether it be art; craft; writing; hobbies; collecting; antiques, robbing banks or whatever!  (jest kidding)

As always, I appreciate your time very much...Jer

Get Inspired; Get Motivated;
Get A Life (Confidence); Get Going!

The state of New Mexico (USA), is blessed with thousands of talented artjists and craftspeople.  Dozens of quality arts and crafts shows are held around the State each year.

Over the years, and as a wood carver, I have participated in over 40 of these arts and crafts shows. I have also carved over 225 original wood
carved pieces.  Some are cartoon-like characters, and others are serious pieces such as wildlife and religious pieces.

I don't sell my work or participate in shows anymore.  My interest in the future, is to have paper products made of my wood scenes, such as mini- posters; greeting cards; silly cards and so forth.

But, I had many pieces left over from the shows, and so I want to put these pieces to work.  I've always loved to participate in the shows, at large shopping centers; hotels; exhibit halls; and outdoor shows as well.

I will be  displaying my work again, only this time it will be for charitable causes at hospitals; schools; charitable organizations, to help raise money for worthy projects, etc. I'm especially looking forward to displaying my work at schools, to encourage kids of all ages to stay in school.

I will also display my work at businesses, as part of my consulting practice, to try to motivate and inspire employees, etc.  And, I plan to have workshops on creativity and idea development, and show my work there as well.

It will be a while before photos of my work will be up and running on my website, but in the meantime, you can read descriptions of my work on other pages within the site.

Assemblies are held at the School of Hard Knocks all the time, to bring people together.

How is one of the best ways to learn...from others, right?
Learning from other people's experiences; wisdom; mistakes, successes, etc. All of us are teachers and/or students in our own way.

* The  Mini-Workshop (optional) can be two hours (or less), and will be FREE, as part of getting acquainted. The participants must be company employees.  This will give me an opportunity  to meet a few company employees; leads; supervisors; managers, and owners, etc.

* This Mini-Workshop can be held at the place of business, in a conference room, for example

* By doing it this way in the evening or on Saturday, will avoid the hustle and bustle of the work place; telephones ringing; interuptions, etc., and will allow everyone to focus on the business at hand.

* Over the years, I have found that many people are sometimes indimidated and  may feel uneasy by the whole process of creativity, idea development, etc. So, I would like to assure everyone, that I would like to make this gathering; informal; positive; relaxed and encouraging to everyone as possible, and I certainly hope everyone else does the same..

*  There can be as many as  company employees (or less)  participate, which I think is a good number to have a productive RoundTable discussion, in which topics will include; getting acquainted; exchanging of views and ideas; suggestions as to how to proceed should there be work in the future; questions on my consulting practice not already covered; questions on my website, which may be of interest to the participants; discussion of any  topics relating to problem-solving in the work place, and a  discussion of general topics of interest chosen by the participants of the company, and a little brain-storming!
(Now, if I only had a brain!)

Color photo presentation:  If interested, I can present to the group, samples of my work (mostly humor-8x10 photos)...a Show n' Tell about how ideas came about, and some of the problems encountered, etc.  (coming soon).

* Later, should this initial Mini-Workshop prove to be successful and of value to the participants, there can be additional workshops for other employees as well.
(There will be a low fee for additional workshops, and will be conducted in the evenings/Saturdays and will be through a Temp Agency.

In the future, the Mini-Workshop (Assembly), in the School of Hard Knocks, will be offered, not only to businesses and business associates, but to organizations as well.  .
