Whether it be carving a piece of wood, building my website, or coaching Little League baseball, I've always subscribed to the Kiss Principle Therefore, there will be no right brain/left brain stuff here, nor will there will not be any forty or fifty dollar words used here either! Creative Consultant (General) What does it mean? Among other things, I believe, that from the front door of a company, to the back door, and everything in between...changes can be made (if necessary), to become more organized; more efficient...saving time and cutting costs. The dictionary defines the word "consultant," as: "An expert who is called on for professional or technical advice or opinions." I don't consider myself an expert at anything, especially in the difficult field of creativity; idea development, etc.. But, I do consider myself a strong idea person; a positive thinker with a positive attitude; and a problem-solver in the work place and elsewhere. I think we already have enough "experts" in this society, don't you? One of the most important things a consultant can bring with him or her is objectivity and impartiality. Sometimes it helps to have someone from the outside take a look at things on the inside of a company and make recommendations. |

Ghost of Downsizing Past... Haunts Today's Workers |
Because of FOUR job losses in recent years (15 years service), and still so much uncertainty in the economy, I decided to put my consulting practice together for the future. So, you don't think your company can close due to mis-management, or move it operations elsewhere, do you? Today, it doesn't matter if you're a C.E.O. of a major corporation, or the flunky next door, there could be a pink slip in your future at any time! Hundreds of thousands of workers all across the country have lost their jobs in recent years! And, there is no company, regardless of its size, that is immune to failure! During the past several years, some of the biggest companies in the world have gone under; or are struggling in bankruptcy to get all their ducks in a row. Today, government agencies at all levels; school districts; businesses; hospitals; organizations are all suffering from SIDS (Sudden Involuntary Debt Syndrome), where there never seems to be enough money to go around. Economic picture for 2003 - Bleak! On February 6, 2003, a report on World News Tonight on ABC television, stated that over two million workers are still unemployed, which is the highest in 20 years, and also stated that the a survey conducted nationwide showed that help wanted ads are the lowest in over 40 years! Because of all this, new, fresh and innovative ideas have to be conceived in the work place and implemented, to compete in a world economy; and to survive. Changes have to be made for the better, to save time and to cut costs! |

If It Aint Broke...Don't Fix It! I'm sure there will be the notion, that if a person; advisor; consultant comes into a company, there will be changes and everything will get all screwed up! Wrong! I've been in the idea business for a very long time, and ideas don't come easy! So, I'll give you my first piece of advice right now, free of charge. It would be silly to change things, just for the sake of change! If you have a great idea and it's working for you...stay with it! |

Welcome everyone, to the School of Hard Knocks, where nothing comes easy for YOU or for ME either! Whether it be illness, debt; failure; rejection; job loss, etc., all of us have been enrolled, or are curently enrolled in the School of Hard Knocks! This is a fictional place (or is it?), where there are no bricks or mortar; no blackboard jungle, and a place from which none of us will ever graduate from. |
Inspiration/Motivation I believe one of the keys to getting usable ideas is to get inspired; get motivated; and get those elusive ideas, put them to work and make them successful. During my three job layoffs, I've seen the pain; the heartbreak; and the tears, when someone loses their job and their source of income. Several years ago, Northwest Airlines was in bankruptcy, and going under. A call went out by company officials to employees for their ideas to save the company. In just 90 days, a stunning 50,000 ideas came in from employees! What was their motivation? Their Jobs, of course! But, why wait until disaster strikes...prepare for the worst now...and, hope for the best! |
Mission/Purpose In a nutshell...to help businesses solve problems. (I think the next best thing to solving a problem, is finding some humor in it...Frank A. My Two Cents (Oinions...for whatever they're worth) Here, I will be giving my comments/opinions on various topics throughout my website and consulting practice. No, I'm not an expert in all the issues discussed in this section; inspiration; motivation; confidence; problem solving, etc...that's silly! But, a problem is a problem, and I've always considered myself a good problem-solver, and that's because I consider myself a strong idea person. And, in my view, it takes a strong idea person, who asks a lot of questions, to solve problems on a continous basis...How can this be improved...how can that be improved? |
