* Organization/NavigationMy top priority on this website.  My site is quite large, with
  over 150 pages, and it is important for my visitors to get around easily or they will not stay
  or come back, etc.  All my pages have links back to the Site Map

Corporate Sponsor Page
In what direction do I want to go with my website?
The POSITIVE direction!
From the time I stared at a blank screen, when I started building my website, one of my goals was to go after a corporate sponsor, at some point in time in the future.  In this society, business corporations sponsor everything under the sun...car races; bike races; golfers; swimmers; football; basketball; baseball; soccer. ..why not a website?   There are spoke-persons for everything under the sun as well...weight loss-diet products; softdrinks; sun screens; medications; auto parts, and the list is endless!

Everything will depend on the success of my website, and whether or not  it continues to flourish!  To make things happen, will also depend on the ideas I come up with!  And, that's the key...fresh new ideas!
* Flexibility:  Nothing is in concrete here!  I have an open mind to change for the
   better.  Feedback; comments; opinions; suggestions advice are all welcome at
   any time.  All the points listed above are subject to change...add to...subtract
   from...modify, so everyone who participates can benefit.

Front Page:

* Website name:  Appears at the top of the Front Page, and I chose a name that
  hopefully will remember.

* Purpose:  Appears  at the top of the Front Page, and is a brief summary of what my
  website is about

Joke of the Week:  placed at the top of the Home Page, to try to get visitor's
  to return  and the joke/anecdote changed every week.

Counter;   This is one of the most important features on my site.  Visitor's can see
  what kind of traffic the site is getting.

Email Address;  The Home Page has an email address in a prominant  position at
  the top of the page, in the middle, and down at the bottom.

Hooks: I've tried to hook my visitor's, with a variety of colorful, humorous
  graphics, short writing pieces, which do not take much time to read, and I have
  chosen graphics, which may be of interest to a wide audience.

*  Visitor's Center; (What's New/What's Going On?  Located at the top of the Front
  Page.  This is important so the visitor can be kept informed about all the things
  going on with my website.

Loading time:  Despite a graphics-rich website, I have never had trouble accessing
  my website from a number of different places.

Additional Information:

* House Calls:  I developed my House Calls, to market my website, and I ususlly
  personalize them, to stay away from spam.

* Traffic: This is a toughie, right?  I don't have a lot of traffic to my site...YET!
  And, this has been fine with me, because my site has been manageable
  up to now. I'm not in any hurry to fail.   But, the traffic will probably have to increase
  if a corporate sponsor  signs on. Where there's a will...there's a way...and, I'll find a
  way!

* Individual Pages: Each page contains:  my name; website name; email address;
  and links Home/Site Map and to other Main Sections.

*  Being a learner and a doer:  I think the key to successfully building a website is for
   that person to be a "learner and a doer."  There is so much to learn coming in to the
   actual building of the website, and as everyone knows, technology is changing at a
   dizzying pace, so to keep up with the latest...the person has to be of the mind to continue
   learning as changes in technology are made.
* Website purpose: To share; inspire/motivate; educate; entertain, and to encourage
   people to get more humor and creativity into their lives.  Visitor's can come here to the
   Creative Center; the School of Hard Knocks; the Funny Farm; and throughout the
   website, to get ideas for their own projects in page lay-out; color combinations; text;
   graphics use; captions; white space; balance; taking chances, etc.
Something for everyone!
Positive; educational; entertaining; humorous; inspirational; motivational; ideas;

* Interesting: More than anything else, my website must be interesting.  If a movie, a
   book, an article are not interesting to the viewer/reader, that individual will find
   something else to do.  Over the years, I have had more comments from people that my
   website is more interesting...than amusing...and that's what I set out to do.  If my site is
   funny...that's just frosting on the cake!
* Family Website:  My website is for kids; women; seniors and families;  There
  will be no dirty or gross humor or profanity of any kind on this website...and that's a
  promise!
* Me, Myself and I: (One man show)  All the work on my website is my own.  I do not have
  anyone else's work on my site and do not plan to do so in the future.  I dot all the "i's"
  and cross all the "t's" for better or worse.
* Politics/controversial matters:  There will be no politics or controversial matters
  on this website such as smoking; abortion; religious matters;
* World-wide audience: Humor; ideas; confidence; courage; motivation and
  inspiration are all universal, and should be important to all of us.  I didn't want to paint
  myself into a corner with a wood carving site; a writing site; a humor site, etc.  I
  wanted a universal site, whereby people in all walks of life and of all ages can come
  here to benefit.
* SOS!  My Serious and Silly Articles:

   On the silly side of things:  Weekly clean jokes; captioned clip-art compositions;
   humorous and humor-related articles such as the positive and healing power of
   humor; humor and aging; health benefits of humor; humor and coping, etc.

   On the serious side of things:  Articles innclude topics which should be important
   to all of us such as courage; integrity; health care; confidence, and other pieces on
   quitting smoking; losing weight; aging, etc.
* Style: I'm building my website to please ME first, and then if others like what I do, I
  will be quite pleased.  There is not much wiggle room for change here, because it is
  my "style" that has made my site successful so far, and will continue to do so.  And
  yes, I will always keep an open mind to suggestions; comments; changes;
  opinions for my website...but in the end, I have to make the final decision as to what
  stays and what goes, etc. .
* GOALS:  With SIX job losses in a decade due to layoffs, I'm building my website for
  me to work all the way to retirement and beyond, so I'm in this thing for the long haul.
* Appearance; colorful:  I'm a person of color, and I like to have colorful things around
  me.  Therefore, I want to build a colorful site, an uplifting site...a site that is cheerful and
  pleasing to the eye...a positive site!
* ToolsAs you will see as you tour my site, I have used only the simple tools provided
  me by Homestead (host) to construct my site.  No bells and whistles; no fancy lettering;
  no animation;  It is being built with simple fonts; backgrounds; color editor's; and the
  clip-art library, etc.
This is a family website.
* Photographs:  There are no photographs on my website now (2007), however there are
  plans to have dozens in the future.  Most of the photographs will come in the Orange
  Barrel Humor section .
NOTE: Work in Progress:  People are not going to know what your goals are unless you tell them...Jer
Other issues include:  Autoresponder; creative control; copyright ownership; website
  content; company logo placement; which companies I will and won't deal with, etc.
  (additional issues will be added as I proceed with this project, etc.
Update:  November, 2007
