Life's Embarrassing Moments...We All Have Them
The positive and healing power of humor cannot be measured.  Humor helps to reduce stress, and tension and that's why I use humor to get out of embarrassing situations myself.  And, there have been plenty of them in my life!  I've eaten plenty of "crow," and I've gotten plenty of "egg on my face" over the years, too!

STOP; LOOK AND LISTEN!  That's the advice I give anyone wishing to get into the humor business.  If you do these three simple tasks, you'll get more humor in your life, et. My ex-wife had a great sense of humor, and that's probably one reason that attracted my to her.  But, she was not, necessarily, a funny person most of the time.  She rarely came up with anything funny, or if she told a joke, she would usually screw it up!  That's fine...I can't fault her for that.  I screw up most of my jokes, too.  But, she shined one day, when she told me the following story about what her receptionist did at work.  And, she picked up on this humor because she was LISTENING.  When she told me this story, I almost fell over backwads.

       HUMAN SERVICES

The offices at the Human Services Department, which handles child abuse cases, was quite busy on this particular Monday morning.  Clients and attorneys were
waiting in the reception area; several children were in the nursery; and the telephones were ringing off the hook!

The receptionist had only been on the job for a week,
and as in any new job, she was still trying to find her way
around.

As the morning wore on, the office scene continued to be quite hectic.  And, by mid-morning, things became a little dizzying for her, as she tried to take care of everyone's needs.  Looking a little drained, and a bit over-whelmed, she was overheard to answer the telephone:  "Good morning...Human Cervixes, may I help you?"
Stranded

It was about nine o;clock in the evening on a cold December night, and Michelle was on her way back home from a meeting.  She was driving on the outskirts of town, when she heard and felt something was not right with the front end of the car.  She didn't know if it was a tire or just what the problem was.

So, she pulled off the highway to take a look.  She got out of the car and went around the front and both sides of the car, and noticed nothing ususual, so she went to get back to get into the car.

Opps!...big problem!  She locked herself out of the car!  Her purse was in the car;  the engine was running and headlights were on...what to do!  She paced around for a few minutes, trying to decide if she should break a window to get into the car...she just didn't know what to do.

She noticed there were store lights up ahead, maybe a convenience store or gas station, so she thought she might walk to go get help. (before cells phones ).  So, that's what she did...started walking.

About ten minutes after she started walking, a policeman stopped back at where she left her car.  And, of course, you can imagine what the officer thought when he came upon the scene...possible foul play!   A car is running; the headlights are on; the doors are locked; and nobody around!

The police officer looked all around, to see if he could find anyone in the area, but didn't.  So, he called in other units to join in the search!

Meanwhile, my friend Michelle arrived at a gas station, found a telephone, and called for help.  Someone would arrive at the scene to help her in a few minutes. But, she was worried about the car, so she started walking back to her car.

As she got closer and closer to where she left her car, she noticed all the flashing lights of police cars and she didn't know what to think

As it turned out, the police called in a search team, with dogs, and a   helicopter was called in as well, with a search light flying low over the area as well.

She was walking briskly now, as she was worried that something had happened to the car.  She could hear dogs barking in the distance...a helicopter flying over, and all the flashing lights.

She was running now, trying to stay on her feet because of the loose gravel along the highway!  She got closer and closer to the site where she left her car, ..scared...huffing and puffing!  There were several police around!

She lumbered across the highway, and she went up to the first policeman she saw, and huffing and puffing, she said;  "Hello officer, my name is Michelle, and that's my car over there.  I locked myself out, and went to call for help...is anything wrong?"
Another embarrassing incident was told to my by my wife, and it happened to a close friend of hers named Michelle.  The story went like this...
