Problem Solving: In the work place is a top priority. I consider myself a very good problem solver in several different areas of the work place.
Objectivity/Impartiality: I believe two of the most important things a consultant can bring with him or her to the work place, are objectivity and impartiality. Sometimes, it takes somebody from the outside to take a look at things on the inside, and make recommendations, always trying to avoid the politics of the work place.
Santa Claus: No...I'm not Santa Claus, bringing a sack full of ideas for all the good little children...that's silly! Yes, I will help my client, in every way I can to solve problems; come up with ideas of my own; and try to motivate and inspire employees to do the same, and, to have a winning team!
How to get ideas! Ideas come in a variety of ways...imagination; observation; experience; being a good listener, etc. But, I think the single best way to get ideas in the work place, is to roll up your sleeves and do the task/job yourself. Get the blisters on your hands; bust your knuckles a few times; get those sore bones in the morning; smell those fumes; so those dreadful repetitive jobs, etc.
Talk is cheap and standing around watching is easy! When you do these jobs yourself, ideas can come rather quickly, as to how to do the job faster and more efficiently.
I will go from department to department (if asked to do so), get my hands dirty (if necessary) to do the job, whether it be in an office setting or manufacturing...it does'n matter.
THIS WILL BE THE CORNERSTONE OF MY CONSULTING PRACTICE!
The most important issue, is that I come up with usable ideas to solve problems for my client. I won't give you a slick brochure, a brief talk and charge you $1,500...BOLONEY...I want my practice to flourish, and I want my clients to be happy with my work.
Employees: If asked to do so, I will work with individual employees, who may be having trouble solving problems; creating ideas, etc. Or, they may feel more confortable and more "open" with someone who is not an employee of the company, who can address their concerns, without fear of reprimand.
Also, there are many immigrants working in this country, who do not speak or write the English language well (neither do I). So, I can help them get their ideas on paper; drawings, etc., and present those ideas to management. (I speak and understand the Spanish language(not fluently), so this is a big help to me)
Idea Program: I think one of the most important things in the work place, is a solid idea program. If I were an owner or general manager, this would be one of my top priorities. Just think of all the useful ideas out there among empoloyees waiting to be harnessed.
If the company does not have an idea program, I can assist in developing one. If the company already has one, I can assist in making it better (if necessary)
The Bottom Line: I can assist a company in improving the bottom line.
Creative Areas: (Marketing; Advertaising; Publications; Website, etc) I do not have any experience in advertising; marketing, etc, but I can assist in these departments, if asked to do so. |
